Muscle strain

-Major injuries may involve partial or complete tears of these tissues.
They commonly occur on the lower back or on the harmstrings.
Their treatments include rest, ice, compression and elevation. Mild strains can be successfully treated at home. Severe strains sometimes require surgical repair.
